I know this isn't model boat related but I really enjoyed the opening match last night.

      And England won

England are in the same group as Australia, so that should be an interesting game.

………as long as they're good losers, eh? This one is too close to call but Wales will surely miss Leigh Halfpenny's boot. I just hope the match isn't one long series of penalties.

What did I say about penalties? Well kicked, Dan Biggar, but do Wales have enough players left standing for the rest of the tournament? My money is still on the All Blacks.

Wales played a superb game last night with some very clever plays, add to this the nail biting final 10 minutes and we were treated to a real 'David and Goliath' match.

                        Well done Wales

                          Very sporting of you, Paul!

Very exciting game, but oh so rough!

If Health and Safety were to get involved……..?

Yes Bob there is a certain element of pushing and shoving in the game but when there is an injury we all know that medics are rushing onto the pitch and not hairstylists, manicurists or astrologers.

Where else can you thump a 24 stone giant and then go for a pint with him afterwards?

Its Saturday night and England's crunch match is about to start.

The game promises to be a real knuckle biter as both teams are well matched and have a great deal to play for.

                              Sit back and enjoy.

I did enjoy it Paul, but I'm sure England supporters most definitely did not. I can just imagine what the English sports writers will say about the England team, who tried hard but were outplayed in the end by a very determined Wallaby outfit. Unfortunately for them, the loss means that England is the first host country in Rugby World Cup history to fail to reach the quarter finals. Australia has to play Wales yet, and they will be no pushover, but we are through to the quarters, whatever the result of that game.

I agree with Dave Milbourn that New Zealand will be the team to beat, as I believe that they are a cut above the rest.

                                  Peter.

                                  Nice play on words, Colin.

I don't usually watch sport but it was clear that Australia were the better team.

Actually I dislike rugby which we were made to play at school when, being one of the smaller members of the class, every time I handled the ball it simply gave the bigger boys an excuse to jump on me with painful results.

Eventually I managed to avoid it by asking if I could be the goalkeeper upon which I was banished to the cross country running mob which was great as the route we had to follow passed my Mum's house and by the use of a judicious short cut I and a couple of friends usually managed to call in for a nice cuppa while the others were slogging around the full course. We were never caught!

An excellent game where both teams treated us to some first class rugby but, sadly for me, at the end of the match the better side won.

                                      Well done Australia
