Twice when I logged in here today, my computer went Ding Ding Ding – "Threat is Detected!"

Anyone else had this? My protection is AVAST! Free protection.

When I went to details, it said "My Hobby Store!"

              Hi Bob

A couple of days before your post the same question was raised on the Model Engineer sister website to this one. The application that threw up the alarm was Avast in that case as well. No one else using the ME website saw anything and there is a LOT more traffic there than here. The consensus there, was that it was due to Avast being "over eager" and throwing up a false positive. The site that caused the alarm on the ME website was also the "MyHobbyStore" site so perhaps work was going on there that Avast took exception to.

Short answer is that doesn't seem to be a problem, and a lot of folk have used the sites since the alarm first appeared.

I didn't really think there was a problem, but it is still doing it!

Perhaps Avast hasn't updated its security certificates, this has happened before with Avast

                        Response from MyHobbyStore:

Yes indeed, we seem to be having "false positives" thrown up by Avast.

We think Avast for some reason has suddenly taken a dislike to the ad banners we see on the page headers, so we're working with Avast and Sparklit (who host the banners) to get this resolved.
