      Dear All

Knowing that most of the membership support the work of the RNLI I have set up a fundraising page where my downloadable designs can be obtained by making a donation to this most worthwhile cause.

Simply visit **LINK** and follow the instructions.

To set the RNLI fundraising off to a good start I am having a January Sale where you can get hold of a download copy of my Ellie 3 in 1 design for a minimum donation of just £1.

Where else can you get hold of a set of original plans for just a pound and be supporting a charity at the same time……So go on and make a donation even if you don't want to build the model yet as the plans take up very little space on your hard drive.

Well done, Paul…….."You`re doing a good job"!

          I`ve set the ball rolling

Don`t need the plans, thank you

Thank you Bob yet again you have gone way beyond the call of duty, if everybody followed your example we would soon hit the target.

              Come on chaps

Why not have a go at Paul's new Axe Head launch, Brutus

Join us at the start of the build of this refreshingly outrageous new design?

I'm sure Paul will release a basic set of drawings in PDF format for £1…..For a limitd period only…..In aid of the Lifeboat charity

Success not guaranteed, but I have every confidence in Paul's design

Simple construction, Keel, eight formers and thin ply covering…..The rest is up to your imagination

I would personally like to see futuristic add ons…..Like outriggers at the rear, stubby wings somewhere and dramatic colour scheme!

              Fancy it?……You bet!

I wish that I had your confidence in the memberships ability to part with money for a good cause especially a cause that has given model boat builders such a wide range of types, styles and sizes to emulate.

Below is a list of what it costs to kit out a lifeboat crew member.

So far all we have raised is enough to buy a pair of gloves.

                Gloves

                £10

                Boots

                £42

                Waterproof trousers (all-weather lifeboat crew)

                £210

                Waterproof jacket (all-weather lifeboat crew)

                £290

                Drysuit (inshore lifeboat crew)

                £319

                Thermal undersuit (all-weather lifeboat crew)

                £200

                Lifejacket (all-weather lifeboat crew)

                £350

Whilst we are all nice and warm tucked up in our cosy houses these men and women risk their lives to save complete strangers.

So instead of buying that extra pint or bottle of wine why not put the money where it will do some good……you will feel proud of yourself when you do.

Hi Paul and Bob, Happy new year, and thank you for your very good idea, and of course, I've added my support.

Just thought you'd like to see this picture taken yesterday at the height of the storm surge where our slipway disappeared for a while under water and when it resurfaced we had to engage two bucket diggers to clear the doors of shingle, sand and rocks so that we could get the boat out.

In case you are wondering, we currently have two Mersey lifeboats at Ramsey, the one in shot is the relief lifeboat "Royal Shipwright" which we are storing over Christmas in harbour, but with the harbour over flowing and flooding, we took her out for a short spin to keep engines in use and moored up alongside the Silver River over the high water.

                    dsc04922 copy.jpg

I was upstairs taking this shot – couldn't open front doors!

                      Many thanks Kimmo

The sea at Barmouth yesterday, must have been about 15 feet above normal!

In summer, the kids dangle crab lines over the harbour wall and way down into the sea!

Yesterday, the sea was over the harbour pavement!

Imagine the river downstream being 15 foot higher! It must have caused havoc for the farmers

Who would be a Lifeboat man in such dangerous sea?

                      Bob

                              Hi Paul….

I hope you do not think I am ignoring your great effort in fund raising.

I live about three hundred yards from the windmill at Lytham front which is next to the RNLI launch and shop, so when we go for a walk, we donate striate into the fund raising tin.

Best wishes for the build and fund raising, Happy new Year,

                              Ian

                                Hello Ian

Thank you for you kind words and you shouldn't worry as I don't ever think bad of anyone especially where charity is concerned.

People give what they can whenever they can afford it and that is good enough for me.

I hope that you enjoy watching this build and please join in with the banter.

                                All the best

                                Paul

Like the idea of the boat build with lots of brass and varnished wood.
