Hi Larry , Larry Here !!

W8 is really best if you have a touch screen computer or use a lot of App based programes etc, other than a different layout and the loss of the " Useful Start" button (Bottom Left of the screen ) Incidently I believe that an app has been wriiten to make one)

If it was me I would stay with W7 as it is pretty stable.

Sorry to say but Windows 8 was written for the tablet market, I wouldn't let it near my computer

In common with other microsoft products win 8 has been launched before all the bugs have been removed so you might find it crashing every so often.

Agree with Paul, Stay with W7, out of interest why did you upgrade to W8 ?.

You can get add ons for Windows 8 to bring back the Start menu. Just Google Windows 8 old look or something similar.

Don't you just lurv Microsoft? Bring out a new operating system designed for phones and tablets without making it clear to all that it really isn't suitable for desktops and laptops – then flog an add-on to make it look "retro" so the poor souls who bought it can actually use it! I would imagine it's also full of the usual thousands of bugs which they expect the customers to find for them.
Don't forget the old rule about Microsoft operating systems being alternately good and lousy. This one comes after W7, which came after Vista………………which came after XP……….

I'll wait until they stop supporting XP (about 18 months hence) and then see what W9 looks like.

                          Well Good Luck Larry..thumbs up

Dave, Like you I thought XP was/is great but was offered W7 ultimate at a great rate so went for it, To date( I am so going to regret this) but it has been fine..

I have heard that MS are talking about extending the support again for XP as it still accounts for over 40% of windows users with W7 at 45% and Vista 5% , if these figures are true or not is another matter.

Re W8 other than the abvious gripes I have not heard any true negative comments.

                          Suit yourself cool
