      Dear All

I have copied this posting from another thread and apologies to those who have already read it.

Raising money for the Parkinsons Society by restoring and selling model boats is an on going project of ours and we are always on the look out for model boats to restore so if any members have old models that they would like to sell or donate please PM me.

We restore the models adding whatever is required, including radio gear to bring them up to full working order then the models are sold and all of money from the sale is donated to the Parkinsons Society.

For our part we donate the time and money needed to do the work.

      Why are we doing it.

Parkinsons is a terrible affliction, my father in law was a big strong man and now he is a shaking, shuffling and shrunken shadow of his former self. It is so upsetting seeing him trying to maintain his garden which only a couple of years ago he could have double dug in a single day.

I know that in the great scheme of things what we are doing is very small, but its the best that I can do. Those of you that have witnessed the effects of Parkinsons will understand our commitment and any help that forum members can give would be very much appreciated.

This is the boat that I am building at the moment and when finished it will be sold in aid of Parkinsons.

At 1:6 scale it is 5ft long and has been designed for either a single 39cc IC, twin 26cc IC or twin electric units.

But can you tell what it is?

As usual Bob gets it right as it's a Huntsman 31 Sportsman.

I had a little help with the design from an inky fingered draftsman who was kind enough to email me copies of some scribbling that he did many years ago.

Colin, yet again you were in the right bar at the right time and took some great photos.

Why don't you post a list of the models you have for sale?

As we have quite few Lazy Bones on the website

                        Bob

The current crop have all been sold but waiting in the wings I have the following:

                        Billings Neptune

Aerokits Sea Rover / Sea Commander / Fire Float

I might even sell my prize winning Trent

I am also working on a set of plans for a narrow boat which will be sold on CD format.

What I do need are donations of unwanted models for restoration and donations of significant parts such as motors, radio handsets & receivers, speed controllers, servos…..if fact most bits as I tend to spend my time trawling ebay for 2 channel 27mhz and various model boat bits.

After the sale of an individual model everybody involved will receive a copy of the donation receipt from the Parkinsons Society.

                          Hello Paul

That's a pretty impressive bit of posting…….I like the reassuring donation receipt mentioned

I've given most of my surplus away already…….Including Jeanie Deans, complete with F16!

I'll have a rummage and let you know

                          Bob

Any bits would be gratefully received even though I wouldn't expect anyone to donate anything as grand as a F16.

I have taken the plunge and bought 2 strimmer engines, a 26cc and a 39cc.

The 1:6 Huntsman is designed to take a 39cc unit but just incase it ends up being to powerful I bought the 26cc as a standby.

The boat will be put up for sale when completed and if anyone is interested in buying it I will happily adapt the final colour scheme to their choice (but let me know before I do the final fix) the hull and superstructure are now complete and in primer.

Now for something completely different !!!!!!!! Any one else out there find it a pain in the parts when WH SMITHS move our favourite magazine and " The other one " to the lower shelves right at the back and you have to prapticltaly have to get down on all fours to find them , this is unfair to our disabled readers when you have got all the aircraft and train magazines on the upper shelves . Makes so annoyed could throw my rubber ducky out the bath !!!!!

                                  Dear all

I have had a few comments regarding the engine and I have been persuaded to fit twin electric units instead of petrol, although I would have preferred to use the petrol engine I realise that I stand a far better chance of raising more money for the charity by fitting the more acceptable electric motors.

The finished boat colours will match the Ford Motor scheme of the 1960s.

                                    Dear All

I am happy to announce that the Parkinsons fund raising has reached £253.79.

A big thanks to everyone who has donated and supported the cause.

Over the next few days I will be selling off my collection of none started restoration projects that include Sea Rovers, Sea Commanders, Huntsmen and Fire Boats. First choice will be given to forum members before I list them on ebay.

                                      Paul,

Reading this thread sent a reminder of the my little Hegi Portuguese fishing boat donation. Did you manage to sell it towards the Parkinsons fund? Your colour scheme and re-paint job on the model was excellent and I hope a good home was found.

Good Luck with further fund raising,

                                      Tony.

                                        Hi Tony

No the little fishing boat didn't sell, there was some interest and I did have some silly offers but I wasn't prepared to let such an excellent donation go cheaply. It will be offered again when I put the rest of the boats up for sale.

Thanks again for the donation and your continuing support.

                                        Paul
