Hi all,

This is specifically about the mechanics of this site really. A couple of times now people have sent me a message and I have missed them. Now I look at the forum most days to follow what people are doing but don’t sign in unless I have something to add so don’t generally look at, or expect to get, messages. However, it seems rude not to answer folk who have taken the time to contact privately so, is there any way of getting an email alert when someone contacts you? Is it just a case of turning something on and if not, could something like this be added without too much trouble?

Just a thought.

Ian,

Yes there is a facility to do this. Just click on “My Account” when you are logged in and you will see a tick box for this under website preferences.

Another thing you can do is to tick the “Remember me” box when you sign in and then each time you visit the site you will be automatically logged in and can check for messages in your “My Account” box.
