Are we being strung along by greater powers that be…….Is the whole circus just a great fix, year after year.

This year Jenson Button was in an un assailable lead..

He couldn’t be touched by any driver on the scene, and his car was just the ultimate flying machine…….and just as in the past 4 years when things were about to get very boring, when he was in such a lead, and half way through the season…….

Yes you get it….bang!!!…….nothing goes right, and everyone starts to catch up, making the (almost certain) world championship in the bag scenario thrown up in the air………for us all to (if that way inclined) grab the edge of our seats and wait for the final race of the season..

Am I being cynical or am I right in thinking that the poison dwarf has more of a say in who wins the world title than most of us think or want to believe.

Last year Hamilton was romping away till mid season, then up jumps Massa.

The year before it was Hamilton/ Raikkonen,

And guess what!…………    the year before it was Alonso and Hamilton….all the same scenario, where it went to the very last race, when half way through the season it had been a forgone conclussion who would win.

last year, Martin Brundall said to Eccleston before tha last race…..how do you make the end of the season so exciting…do you stage manage it?

Eccleston walked off with a blink and a smile.

Are we being taken for a ride, I ask……of are we just mugs with a capital M.

That was a good story, Neil!………………..(Sounds like a line from the Good Ones….Rick etc?

          You`re obviously an F1 fan!

For a start…….Where does all the money come from to pay the crazy wages?

Next year, the cars have to have a giant petrol tank…….no more pit stops for juice any more.

But back to your story……………it does sound a bit sus`…but I don`t think they`re having us on really……it just seems like it!

I remember a few years ago, Nigel Mansell needed one more win for the championship………and he`s coming up to the line……..100 yards to go!……….Bang!…he gets a puncture!……………….Don`t think that was staged?……….It was a good `un if it was!

Coming back to reality………Pity Shoemaker couldn`t get back…….He could have done a Mike Hailwood!

          That`s my two penneth anyway………………….Bob

As good a conspiracy theory as JFK  or the Moon Landings,
but i wouldn’t dismiss it for one minute.

Our dear friend Paul could help answer your question as his son works for the Williams team, you will have to ask him when he returns.

                Neil,

Forget F1, start following MotoGP, Valentino Rossi, Casey Stoner, Jorgi Lorenzo etc.

Moon Landings, why can’t anyone explain why that lander taking off from the moons surface could have been part of a Gerry Andersons Fireball XL5 puppet show!

Oh I do watch the moto GP, tony…One of the most thrilling of series on Tv, except for the TT that is.

Been a motor cyclist all my life…can’t get it out the blood..even if to old and too  fat to ride one these days.

                  I love them.

In fact I love most forms of motor sport except WRX and Speedway…got a bit of a phobia about having gravel and sand thrown in my face……probably stems from my childhood  spent on Fleetwood beach having a gob full of sand regularly.

Mind you, I can do without Nascar….boring stuff.

But there definately something awry when a chap thunders into a lead, and then finds all sorts of probs….where as his co driver (in each year mentioned) still has the momentum to out perform him in the second half of the season with almost identical cars..???????

now?……………….who says, after this latest fiasco, it isn’t possible to manipulate teams for the eventual outcome of the series.

It is unbelievable what Renault, by their withdrawal of any defence into the accusations of race fixing and pre determined crash at SINGAPORE, were thinking, and although Briatore and Symmonds have resigned, the buck stops at the top.

As Victor Meldrew would say…………..”I DON’T BELIEVE IT!!!!”

I clearly remember watching a grand prix a couple of years ago when Murray Walker blurted that Michael Schumaker had taken five seconds off the fasteast lap time, and having regained the lead, settled down to win the race in a liesurely style. I say there is no driver that can take five seconds off a lap time in the middle of a race unless he has nitrous oxide injection on demand. Then, year on year, he went on to win the world championshipand became the most boring driver on the track except for speculationas to who he would collide with to remove a threat like Damon Hill, and David coultard who nearly had schumaker in his boot. I genuinely believed that Shuey had another button on his steering wheel that could stick a rocket up his arse. Certainly now thatRaikonnen is not doing nearly as well. Ferrari certainly seem a spent force now. When I win the lottery, I am going to buy a Bristol FighterT2……….Mike in Plymouth
