I am very pleased to confirm that Bob and I will be displaying our various designs and creations at The Model Boat Convention, Haydock. and promoting our charity fundraising designs.

We will be taking the Ellie Range of Ellie, Sea Spray, Red Leader & SloMo2

The Mighty Thor.

The futuristic Brutus.

The frame prototype of The Vintage Gentleman's Cruiser.

The Barrel Back vintage speedboat.

Arthur has very kindly arranged a table next to one of the ground floor entrance doors so we will be easy to find (and able pounce on people as they arrive)

We are both looking forward to the weekend and chatting to anybody who is daft enough to listen, Jane is making a picnic including her superior fruit cake and homemade lemonade.

It will be fun

Hi Paul..

Hope you have a good time at Haydock and lots of interest in your great projects.

For us that will not be able to get to Haydock, hope you will be able to find time to take a few pictures.

Hopefully we will be keeping a running report from the event on this thread including photos (if Bobs Ipad can stand the strain) But we will certainly be producing an after the show article detailing everything.

Hi Bob

There has been a theme for some years now at the Convention, it is not a compulsory thing but something which it is hoped clubs would try to base their stand around. As a member of the Runcorn group I know that the late Arthur Taylor was a champion for this and loved designing and then creating the clubs display, based around the theme, such that Runcorn have won this for the last 2 years, this year is no different with quite a few members contributing to building the display, our display is such that 50% is the theme with the other half being a normal display of models.. It is just a bit of fun.

Hi Bob , The Perkasa is my first build having made the switch from building model live steam locos for many years over to model boat building 18 months ago . I have been thinking of my next project and it was going to be a Lloydman tug from a glass hull ( no kit available ) however with your kind offer you have got the gears turning in my head the thought of building a model from scratch really appeals but when i read the posts from the likes of yourself , Paul T, Dave M and many others i know i am not in your league when it comes to boat building . Having said that my aim was to one day build from scratch so why not have a go next . See ya both at Haydock .

Hello Cookie…..That`s nice to hear!

I also was a live steamer in the 60`s and 70`s having built the Bassett Lowke Tank engine, LBSC`s Britannia and Martin Evans Princess od Wales……Then Model Aircraft and Cars of course

Building model boats will not be not be a problem to a man of your Iron Fighting calibre?

I would recommend the big Lady Jane and follow my website trials and tribulations

If you can control yourself and wait a few weeks, take a look at mine at the Haydock show?

Hi Bob, Never did a brit but my Princess of Wales well no wonder it was nick named the spinner it only needed to look like rain and it slipped like crazy . Anyway Bob i will see you and Batman at Haywood plenty to talk about , i am off on holiday now to the lakes no internet were i am going just smoke signals.
