Brings back memories of 3 drafts to Daedalus in the seventies. I worked in the Captains Office just near the main gate and when the Wellington started up you could hear the racket in the office.

Me and the lad will be there for sure on the Saturday. A great day out and right by the sea. Easy trip for us down the A3.

Pick up a few ideas for alternative models, there being lots to choose from and a fair few cased models to view as well.

Its a shame, Ihave noticed that the RN Sub museum is only a really short distance away from the h/c show, but there is just not enough time to do justice to both places in the same day!

Looking forward to trotting through the `N4, its like a spaceship inside…all alloy and pop rivets…and it flies! Truly amazing, 4 gas turbines and a few acres of rubber sheet.

I will be paying special attention to the models this time in preparation to my forthcoming SRN4 project. I am undecided about the propulsion motors, they need to be small, and I was thinking of speed 280/300 size (dont want them any larger than this on top of the pylons) but am not sure they are man enough. the alternative is brushless…but 6 motors (4 propulsion 2 lift <fans&gt would be very expensive..£150 ish plus…seems a bit much to spend on motors??

Great day out at Lee-on-solent. Fantastic sunshine. Took loads of snaps, some of wot i have pasted into my album, life is too short to paste `em all in.(see my album for a few more)

Of interest was …oooh…loads of hovercraft, from models to whoppers like the SRN4, toys, r/c models, builders models, models of prototypes, as above3..prototype model of the new Navy semi-hover landing craft , one man toys, home made items, memorabilia..and guess who even bagged a proper line drawing of an SRN4 for a miserable fiver!!

Rides given on a biggun over the sea..and amazing to see it climbing up the beach over some impressive bumps. Fort nelson after to see some big guns, and on to Porchester castle for an ice cream.
