Calling all Clubs!

Model Boat Mayhem is holding our annual  “Mayhem at Wicksteed” event again this year and we would like to
invite you and your club to attend! This annual event is now a highlight of the Model Boating calendar and our fifth outing
is shaping up to be even bigger and better than ever before!

Again it will be held by kind invitation of the Wicksteed Park theme park, Kettering http://www.wicksteedpark.co.uk/ and the
affiliated Wicksteed Park Model Boat Club on May 28th and 29th (Bank Holiday Weekend). The rally has been steadily growing in
popularity and significance, being well attended, covered by local TV and the model boating magazines and generally hailed as
‘great fun event’, ‘a real success’, ‘a wonderfully friendly atmosphere’.

There is ample space to set up club or individual stands right next to the lake giving you ease of access to the waterside with
ample parking & overnight camping facilities right in the park.  

The event is again ‘FREE’, apart from half price entry to Wicksteed Park via Mayhem Voucher ( to be confirmed )  with camping
available if required, payable directly to Wicksteed Park. Set up can be either Friday night or Saturday / Sunday morning

We will have various trophies, awards and competitions, both at club level and for individual boats.  
The very popular FREE TEA AND COFFEE will again be on offer.
Saturday evening there will be the ever popular ‘Lakeside Beer & BBQ’ for those camping or just wanting to enjoy the warm evening air….  and for the early risers on Sunday we’ll even cook you a bacon roll!

Why should your club attend the event?
 
•   The 2010 rally attracted around 3000 visitors, modellers and general public.
•   Exclusive use of a superb purpose built wadeable model boating lake.
•   The venue is centrally located, easily accessible and served by major trunk roads.
•   Wicksteed’s Theme Park is very popular with families ….whilst Dad slips away to play model boats.
•   Excellent on site camping facilities with on-site security.
•   Ample car parking space close to the lake.
•   Attract new members to your club and show off your best models.
•   And above all, a GREAT Atmosphere!

The 2011 event promises to be larger than ever before and Model Boat Mayhem would like to invite your club to attend the rally thus
helping to make this event an even greater success. We would really like your club to attend and would appreciate it if you could
register your interest as early as possible as this will give our small team of volunteers enough time to help set up in readiness for the
2011 event.
