      This year  the Dortmund Intermodellbau was host for the Naviga C class World Championships in ship modelling . A full coverage of  the Intermodellbau and Naviga will appear in due course.  The  Naviga C  covers a wide range of skills and classes , ranging from plastic models out of the box to the superbly crafted period ships .For example card modeling is  well represented in full hull or in diorama as are the miniatures.  But for me it was the Chinese miniatures that  were simply astonishing,  two are shown here.  Building demonstrations are  stock in trade of the event  and once again it was the superb skills of the card modellers that  caught the camara lens .

          Many thanks for posting Dave. I would have liked to have gone to Dortmund myself but the logistics just didn’t work out.
           
          Incidentally there is a photo of you in your wild youth in my Commemorative Special issue of Model Boats.
           
          Good, that’s another one sold….

            Hi Colin   My wild Youth? ,  well I’ll have to buy up every copy  just to prove I was a youth and  mildly wild which you needed to be to race,    I do remember John Cundell  as the man to beat in   F3 steering  in  those  far off days  and the UK was the tops in Naviga .
