      Ellesmere Port March Modellers Show

Introducing the Ellesmere Port March Modellers Show at the Ellesmere Port Boat Museum on the 7th and 8th of March 2009 hosted by Ellesmere Port Model Boat Club. The show will consist of various local and not so local model boat clubs exhibiting their boats with on the water displays of extremely large ship handling through a realistic dock recreation. Also there will be the opportunity to experience, first hand, what it’s like to pilot  a model harbour tug using one of the designated tugs on display, or if you are displaying your own models, why not have a sail too. It is not finalised yet but we are looking into organising a few workshops to give people some idea of how others build their models. There will also be a strong representation from traders and manufacturers, a list of whom will be given at a later date. We hope to have a fun, light hearted weekend to kick off the 2009 season. I will keep up to date with any new information I receive and I’ll keep you informed on the forum.

Entrance into the museum will be priced at £3 per head per day.

This has just been anounced by The Ellesmere Port MBC

As I get Information I will post it on here, sounds like it should be a good event.

Quite a coincidence Dave, I’ve just been going through some old photos and have found one of you at Ellesmere way back, probably early 90’s.

                                thanks very much.
brings back a whole load of nostalgia as a kid growing up in fleetwood.
                                you’ve made me very happy.
                                neil.
                                cheers, colin.
we are lucky at Fleetwood in having the builders model of Mona’s queen 8′ long in the museum/
i could stand looking at those ships all day.
sadly the one i want to build, the old 1913 KING ORRY I can’t find plans for.
                                cheers all. neil.

Hi   Colin   . It must have been one of the  very first Conventions   .  But at that time there was no problem using all the waters and  display areas  that was available. By 1992 the  attendence  for the August event was just under 6000 .  But   the enthusiasm for  events such as this at the Boat Museum remains undiminished and I for one am pleased to see the show back on the road or should it be canal ?
