Morning all,

I have recently purchased an unfinished kit of the Krick Victoria, and whilst plans were included with it, the instruction manual is in German….I am quite happy to continue with the build using the plans, however if i can get hold of some English Instructions that would significantly help me! Does anyone have the above kit and would be willing to send me a copy? Failing that, any ideas as to where i can get a copy? I will of course pay all costs.

Hi Peter,

have you tried emailing Krick? http://www.krick-modell.de/frameset.html I remember a modeler doing that a few years ago and he found them very helpful. Or if you have some goods to buy from a decent model shop you could ask them if they would be willing to copy an instruction book from their stock.

Many thanks for the reply; i have been in contact with a number of shops and am just waiting for a response…..fingers crossed! The plans i have are quite good, but i would also rather have the instruction manual, just in case!

Have just had the instructions emailed through in pdf format from Krick; you were right, they are very helpful, an incredibly quick response! I can now crack on and get this model built and in the water!!

The finished model; have used a bit of artistic licence with a few things but am happy with the overall result. Just gotta get some gas now and get it wet!

Like Peter Galbraith, I need building intructions for Krick Victoria in English as the originals are in German.

I e-mailed Krick about 10 days ago requesting an English version, but have received no reply (as yet).

Are you there Peter? Are you able to photocopy your English instructions and let me have a copy. All expenses will be paid.

Bill,

Your horizontal boiler should fit ok in this model; be warned though as i have used the Krick Alex 2 steam unit in my boat rather than the larger Krick Victor 2 unit as suggested by Krick so the photo may give a false impression of space! I think it would be ok though, with a bit of tweaking. You could create extra space in your boat by only using a single universal joint to connect the prop shaft to the engine; i have used two!

Afternoon all,

I am thinking of adding a bit more realism to my boat (see pics on previous page) and think a few bags of coal in one corner of the engine compartment would like quite good. I would obviously use real coal, breaking up a lump of it into small bits but have no idea what to use as bags…I have seen some excellent models on the internet that have holds ‘filled’ with coal – the coal is visible under hatch boards that have been removed but nothing that would provide ideas for bags!

I was thinking something along the lines of getting some hessian or similar, making some bags to the appropriate scale and smearing it with coal dust to add some realistic colour, however if anyone has any other ideas, some help would be appreciated!

Awesome model Bill, looks good, the figures finish it off nicely! The boiler and engine look smart too. Think a removable cabin is a good idea, there isn’t much to access there apart from the engine control servo but it would help.
