      G'day,

I'm searching for information for building a LCT barge from a plan and will certainly appreciate anyone's assistance. From my search of the internet, I know there are a lot of landing craft plans and kits available, but sadly not what I'm looking for. Ideally I would like to scratch build a 45m vessel scaled to 1/32.

      Thank you,

      Bob

            lct

            lct#2

            lct#3

This one is 5 foot long, approx. 1/32 scale (roughly), but it would not take much to make it proper scale. I knocked up loads of landers at the time.

This one was easy to build, and is made so that the rear section can unbolt (you can see the split line), not that ever have done.   Three 385 motors, cheap 2mm propshafts. Goes quite well.

              Hi Ashley,

Thank you for replying. The 1/32 scaled model maybe able to be modefied to look more like a commercial LCT that I am keen to build. Did you build from a plan or a kit? With using 3 x 385 motors it propably gets along quite fast and I would only want to achieve the equivlant of 7 knots so two motors would be ok with hi torque/low rpm. Does the ramp go up and down via your remote?

Any other info would be gratfully acepted.

              Thank you Ashley.

You can always scale up this plan:

Silver. Not sure what you mean by "commercial" LCT??? Perhaps a picture of what you have in mind may help.

Mine was built from "head" plans (I drew my own), and it is not particularly scale, but has the look. Francis has spotted a scale plan and as he says, could be re-scaled. This looks like mine though (if a bit fatter) so still may not be what you want.

The motors are more than adequate, but it is not fast. You do have a throttle though and do not have to push the stick fully forward and can thus achieve a more scale speed. With something like this though, it is horribly affected by wind and a good power reserve is essential. Remember. If you have it, you don't have to use it all, if you don't have it….crash!!!

Ramp fixed but very easy to make a working ramp.

                    Hi Ashley,

Thanks for your correspondence and photos. Good looking barge but unfortunately not what I'm searching for. The ramp will go up and down by modifying a servo.

I'm trying to insert a photo but its not an easy task.

                      Hi Ashley,

I created an album selected a photo but the photo will not stay in the album? Any reason for this?

                      Bob

Someone techy will have to answer the photo issue. Are you using Jpeg`s as stated in the help article on the front page??

Do you have to have a plan to build this??? if there are no actual plans out there you will have to make your own. It is very easy and I have a added a few pictures of the card model I made. This was to assess the look and dimensions of the model, and also gives you a 3-d idea of what it will look like. The actual build followed the card model virtually as-is.

With pictures, it would be very easy to modify my construction to resemble whatever it is you want to build??

                          G'day Ashley,

Thanks for your help, appreciated mate. I don't have a plan but I have searched the internet and can get some good info from live company vessels, so I'll go with that info. I don't think its a differcult build so lets see what happens.

                          Thank you, Bob.

Bob. Can you post a picture of what you want to build please?? cheers Ashley

PS have to set up an album first, see home page for hints `n` tips.
