I realize that old ocean liners are not 'in' right now-except for the Titanic (sign of the times?), but I'm curious as to whether any material might be available concerning the old Inman/Anchor liner "City of Rome" from the 1880's. I've found photos and some area plans on Grace's Guide – not the fashion blog but material on British engineering. I wish "The Shipbuilder" was online!

Anyway, thanks for any tips you can provide. Thanx!

According to an old catalogue I have, the London Science Museum had a 1:96 scale model of City of Rome in their collection although I don't recall seeing it on display.

Their maritime gallery has unfortunately now closed down but the models have been transferred to storage off site and can be made available to view for research purposes. You would need to contact the museum.

          Hope this helps,

          Colin
