No. Or at least, not without exploring a few alternatives….
This is a tricky one: Something like a Leander does look better with a helicopter but inevitably when building semi-scale and indeed to an odd actual scale there is nothing that fits the bill.. Remind me how big yours is?? Is a 1/48 scale Wessex on the money for scale?
My first ever effort was a Leander, at about 4 foot long and this had a 1/72 Lynx on it..a bit big, but not overly so considering the full flight deck.
A Wessex of course would not have gone on a Leander due to its size, but is of suitable periodness, or even I suppose a Whirlwind.
If you had a full flight deck a Wessex would go nicely even if it was a bit larger than it should be, but will overhang your mortars unless it was too small, and not look right. Are you particularly fussed as to type?? Die-cast and assorted cheap toy helicopters come in a range of sizes and painted dark blue…
OR if the Wessex was a nice size, convert the flight deck???
Alternatively, as then rest of your boat has been scratch built, it would seem logical Mr Spock to make the helicopter!!! block of soft balsa or even better Styrofoam (which is very easy to carve and sand).
I have lost count of the number of models I have built and ended up thinking "if only I had made it to fit XXXX "instead of trying to find something later on . The cure thread on the n QE carriers is a good example of more forward thinking!!!
Ashley my fist effort…minus helicopter!! so not a lot of use posting this eh???
