Well, I had a go at Peter Whitehouse's barge featured in the November magazine. The construction was straightforward, but I had to guess dimensions etc.
I also had to guess at the ballast settings, it did heel over considerably (even with a lot of ballast), and it did not sail well, how much of that is the fact that the barge shape hull isn't very streamlined is hard to tell. I did make the rudder larger but it still didn't have much effect, but that may be linked to the mizzen mast settings, which again I had to guess at.
Perhaps the secret is in the fine tuning of the settings. Anyone else had a go at this model?
