Many thanks to Ashley for the excellent plans and description of the submarine Unseen . In the write up the sub uses a 385 motor , in the revel sub it is a twin screw so could i use a pair of these motors or another type ?

Andy. Glad you got the plans ok, You can see hust how far I deviated from them !! although basically my Oberon is much the same.

revel sub. May depend on space. Others MUST have converted this sub, so a good hard surf might be in order. However, assuming it will be using much smaller props that Unseen, perhaps a pair of 280`s or speed 280`s would do. The 280`s from Maplin are very inexpensive and will run on 6v no problem to drive 20 or 25mm props.

After having the quickest of surfs, it appears that even 280`s may be a bit big, and a pair of flat sided can motors might be better…240`s?? or some MFA 140 motors. The conversion i saw used the kit plastic props, mounted on brass rod propshafts.
