Very interesting build, Ron, but it seems to end before the model was really completed?

Is there a sequel to this epic build?

I believe that the magnificent display case that has been commissioned by the grandson of Lord Jelicoe to house Ron’s Iron Duke is now ready . I’m sure ARH will be keeping us posted as to when the model will be going on display .

In memory of my Dad who passed away on the 13th September 2013 I would like to add a video of his model the Iron Duke in her new home at the Cayzer Building, London. The model was donated to Nick Jellicoe, Grandson of John Jellicoe, Captain of the Iron Duke at the Battle of Jutland in 1916.

                            Rest in Peace

I have had some great news from Nick Jellicoe, Grandson of John Jellicoe regarding the display of the Iron Duke built by Admiral Ron Horabin. (ARH) The model will officially go on display at the Sea War Museum, Thyborøn, North Jutland, Denmark next Tuesday 15th September on the first stage of its tour of Europe.

Here is a link to Nick Jellicoes' Blog page showing the model on display along with other artifacts associated with the Battle of Jutland.

I have also included a photo of the model on display

It is also two years since ARH left us and this is a fitting tribute to him and his model.

This is a great achievement by any standards . Ron was an unassuming person , a great communicator yet possessed that gift of being an outstanding model maker . Thankfully his name and achievements will live on through his model of the the Iron Duke.

A lovely model. The Iron Duke class was rather overshadowed by the later Queen Elizabeths but they were actually a very well balanced design.
