      I ‘ve wanted to build a light ship for some time now but have never come across any suitable drawings or plans. Recently i came across a great looking model of the Spurn Lightvessel on the Hull Model Boat Group.
       Could someone direct me to drawings, hull or mould to build a similar model.
      Any help would be greatly appreciated.

          I can’t help with a plan but Kingston mouldings Islander class hull has been used to make a model lightship.
          Hope this helps.

            Thank you for the prompt reply. I came across some very detailed drawings on the Trinity House web site. Although there are a number of drawings, they seem to be based on the “South Goodwin” lightship. If i have no further luck i will probably use them, although a suitable hull would speed things up.

              The Maritime Museum in Hull have a print of the Spurn Lightship drawings in 1:24 scale.  There are two sheets showing a side elevation and a plan view but no hull cross sections.  They can supply the drawings as a jpeg file or you can go in and trace the originals if you wish – Bill Jefferson who built the model you saw traced the drawings in the museum.
               
              I also have a long term plan to build the Spurn lighship but have not got round to starting yet.

                http://lightshipfriends.com/startgb.htm   has info on lightships, as well as pictures of some models. interestingly, one of the pictures alludes to being from  Billing plan???
