A big THANKS to Pierre for posting the plans for this hydroplane, I have long wanted to build this model in a large scale but didnt want to pay for the Billings version just to get the plans.
Pierre’s version have already been loaded into the CAD and scaled up to make a model 1.5m long.

Of course it will be powered by a strimmer engine……..Fantastic….I just don’t know when I will be able to build it.

              Hi Paul
Glad you found the plans useful!

At least (I presume ) you wont need to convert all those 7/16ths and 5/32s  that made no sense to a metrically educated modeller!
              Regards – Pierre

ps – hope you find my plans of the SDM as interesting. (if I manage to upload it)

                Hi Pierre

I was one of the lucky (or unlucky) few who was educated in both imperial and metric so the moving from one to the other is easy.
But with your drawings I just let the machine do the work.

                  Hello Pierre

                  The conversion is quite simple…………….e.g……

                                                                                7/16 x 25.4 = 11.11 mm

                                                                                5/32 x 25.4 =  3.97 mm

This design is getting out of hand.

Having done some more work on the computer I have found that the strimmer unit won’t fit into the hull at 1.5m long.
To make it work I would have to increase the model length to 2.2m (which is getting silly)

You done a lot of yapping this morning, Paul!

Never liked the idea of a petrol engine anyway…………too restrictive on venues………..we all want to see it at Birchwood this year………speeding round the jolly old lake!

So it looks like two of those mysterious brushless motors now?

                        Keep us informed………………Bob

Sorry Paul……………….Just noticed that your talking about the Slo Mo boat!

I had assumed, you were talking about your Barrel Back………………but still think electric is the way to go?

                            Hi Bob

I just think that electric will be to slow in a speedboat model of this size but I am open to suggestions as to a battery / motor combo that would suit.
