        Hello Martyn

Firstly either find a set of plans at 1:35 or draw up your own basic plan showing length, breadth and height. If the model is to be used in a dirama and dipected at waterline level than you wont have to worry about keels, rudders and propllers.

The drawing up of a set of basic construction drawings is easy enough if you keep it simple.

Then consider what you want to make the model out of i.e. wood (balsa / ply), styrene or card.

After you have answered these questions I will be able to help you with more detailed information.

          Ok, thank you Paul.

I will draw up plans and post the picture of it, with full measurements for you.

As for matirial i dont know, what is the best to use ?

The choice of material can depend upon what you intend to do with the model. If its just a diarama then card is the easiest, quickest and cheapest, but if you intend to sail the boat then you will need a heaver material such as balsa or ply.

The choice is yours as you are going to be building it

                Hi Paul

It is going to be in a diorama and in water. So there will be no nead for a propeller or underwater features.

Which card would i use ? I have some knowledge with plastic card and i fell i can handle that.

                Thank you paul.

                  Hi Martyn

You have answered your own question…………….if you are familiar with plastic card then that is the perfect choice.

Your next decision is how big do you want the tug to be i.e. 1000mm long x 250mm wide?? (yes that would be a big model but you get the general idea)

                    1)A German tug boat

                    2) 30cm long from plastic card

                    3) gather drawings and start from there!

No problem and I am glad to help.

Have a good time at the model show and take some photos (if you have the chance) so we can all enjoy the event.
