Even bending at the knees doesn’t help me at our club pond, one has to go down on one’s knees for part of the lift.

So much better is a cradle which slips under bow and stern of craft and one remains standing to do the lift with one’s arms.  Mind you it might not work with big boats with 65lb of ballast in which case those boats have their own beaching trolley, akin to trailer sailors in 1:1 scale, and one guy has his van fitted with a lift, as handicap wheelchair folk have.

Cradle designs have been around for yonks with plastic pipe versions in MB way back, although mine is some webbing, weighted with lead on the underside, and string up to a pair of sticks.

          Hi Bob & JC

I am forever grateful to the guys who installed the little slipway at Runcorn water it makes the launching and retrieving of larger models so much easier especially for me as my knees don’t like to bend.

Not him and the rest of the monstrous regiment I would have to get some guards guards to protect me by jingo.

The ramp was put in when the lake was built, they drove the vehicle,s down it when it was time for cleaning out.
