Purely as a matter of interest, does a hovercraft qualify as a boat or a plane ?

I am about to start building "Hover-Long" from a set of plans but using Depron instead of plywood in an attempt to get the weight down and thus get longer life from the batteries.

Any advice from hover builders would be much appreciated.

Mike ( VGC or Lady Jane is next on list)

hi invisibleman ,your right keep it as light as possible and use brushless motors and if you can go for lipo cells. use props with wide blades but not to big a diameter (keeps the torque low).ps if you have nicads they will do. best of luck any more questions and i will try to help. i have built and flown a 1/10 scale griffon 2000td .it has two brushless motors and runs on 14.4 volts on both motors with nicads.it allso has a gyro linked to the rudders to control the swing .regards sammyk
