Hi Alan,
I am slightly interested because a smaller 20 inch vosper mtb of mine obtained your 24 volt speeds with a standard 540 motor on a 6 volt 4amphour lead acid battery.Great fun to sail on calm water.
Since then I have considered trying out one of these huge 6 foot speedboats but with an electric rather than an I.C. motor I reckoned there is an almost exponenential rise in power needed with bigger size but now we have Brushless motors and Lipos.
I have no experience of brushless motors and know these questions are a bit off topic but……….
- I take it you are not driving the 720w motors anywhere near their full capacity?
- What type and capacity of batteries in each model and duration of sail for both models?
- What motors powered the 1/16 boat?
I am guessing you may be a speed freak or have sailed fast electric so:-
- You churn up a lot of water.Have you ever noticed a difference using large brass props geared down in fast electric boats? (not these jet drive ones off course)
- What difference over standard or surface drive props do the jets make?
Thanks in advance
