      took my new boat out this morning and it was great for about 5 minutes, then the motor started to stop and then start a few seconds later. took it home phoned my local rc shop who advised the speed controller was not upto the job. i had a 15? and they sold me a 25? took it out once all new bit fitted, boat still doing the same, upto the point it sank, luckily somebody in waders rescued it for me. so i am nearly £30 lighter and still seem to have the same problem. any ideas of what is wrong, any advice much appreciated. thanks

          Cas. Two problems there, possibly related…

          Sinking is normally due to excessive water ingress, or careless piloting.

          Motors stopping GENERALLY electrical, but there again if the, say, propshaft is binding or something, then too much currrent will be taken by the motor and, if you have an Mtronics Viper , for instance, it will cut out as a safety feature.

          Not so sure your problems are related. I would carry out an extended bath test first, ballasting down the boat to see if water is coming in anywhere. UNLESS you were zooming along and simply flooded the boat from excessive wash/bow wave?

          Picture, we need a photo. Or at least, what sort of boat is it.. Passenger?
