Hi James The switch on the Esc disables the Bec on that esc. The bec is what supplies the RX. So switching off both Esc switches the RX off so no RX. Switching on one OR the other Esc will supply the RX and via the RX the second esc control. Switching on both Esc switches puts Two supplies to the RX and too each other, and can cause problems with the two supplies interfering with each other, (and probable damage). Disconnecting one of the red wires prevents both switches being switched on together.
