Hi Bob

Upon close inspection the "crow nest" is in fact two separate objects. One is a flag which is flying behind a more solid structure which resembles a large bracket sitting at right angles to the mast.

This could be a supporting / insulating post for the wireless equipment this would also explain the "cross trees" which are typical of ship mounted radio equipment of this period.

I`m making mine a Crows Nest just for the interest………….with a natty set of rungs up the mast.

I am not sure a crows nest will look ok unless the mast is a lot thicker and vertical. This may impinge on the look of the thing though ???? (personal opinion) Ashley
