I am a number, not a free man it seems….@ashleyneedham6918 or is it 88, as there is a random 8 underneath the 6918 under my grey avatar!
Tim. Not good for drying or painting at the moment. MOST of the boat supports in my boxes are wooden slats with 1/4 inch foam stuck on top. SOME have a plasticky sort of foam which is waterproof.
I am going to make a new vehicle deck and rear superstructure for the ferry, as these items just sit in pace, and I am going to make this a Train ferry deck, using two strips of my nicely re-plated O gauge Hornby track and populate it with some of my tin plate trains.
Although two bits of track (11 inches long) sit side by side ok, a hitherto unseen issue has arisen in that most of the locos have either the winding key permanently attached. or have the spindle sticking out, preventing two trains actually sitting side by side in the available room. This limits what i can use, despite having 50 odd engines. Unbelievable, eh?? Still, there are half a dozen candidates so its not all bad. Not all have tenders, so I might go with two trains, a tender on one, and a carriage for the other, for the variety.
The selection will be either Mettoy, Brimtoy or Chad valley, as the Hornby locos are at least twice as heavy, even for the smaller locos, this being due to them having decent size springs. Am I speaking double-Dutch here??
The Swordfish suffered a magnet failure leading to my pilot having his head trimmed by the EDF, fortunately without seemingly much damage toi the fan, so some repairs needed, and I will have the hatch secured by a small screw this time.
Some, but mostly not all the previous posts on Todays Boating were transferred over, not that it matters really.
