Model Orca

I have just aqquired a model of the Orca from the jaws movie its very nice… wish it was a bit bigger built from plans via cornwall model boats the search light on the fly bridge is one of those cheap plastic robbe ones is there anything better out there ?have looked but cant seem to find anything other than the plastic robbe one which is not that great and only 6 volt

Is it possible to fit an ultrabright white LED into the Robbe unit? Alternatively you could perhaps make a replacement searchlight with an LED fitted.

yes it is thats my plan..shame they dont make a metal search light I really dislike cheap plastic parts its not strong enough to attach a micro servo so you could swing it about

Well i modified the robbe with a 5mm led its bright but going to purchase one of those cap Maquettes lights from cornwall boats thanks for the info great thing about the leds at 12 v there bright and no heat
