hi ya Richard,

The chances are that the hull was made from Sticky brown parcel tape covered with shellac varnish.  This was an old method used by those of a mature age – I believe Mr Bishop is well up on this type of construction 🙂 – he may have made several hulls this way.

This obviously comes from the era of single valve home made radios and models made from baby milk tins – the better times.
