You young guys could do yourselves a favour if you came to my judo club, I would soon get you fit, you would be running up the stairs, I have five and six year old girls attending my classes, and they do a warm up before they start that includes 120 sit ups and 120 press ups, and they love it. I haven’t managed to persuade any that they want to join the model boat club yet, but that will come one day.

Now Tom going back to your previous post,I cannot for the life of me see why you should ask the TV man about an e or EEPROM. as apart frrom the null and full ahead settings, there is no requirement for that sort of memory at all atall. I have a STAG programmer at work with an erasing oven for proms of all sorts, and with it, I can reprogram or copy any chip even the sports chips for car engine management units  Your TV man says quite sensible things, but television and radio control are really quite different bedfellows, he is quite correct in saying that you could use a single 12volt source, andpick off voltages through a linear device like a LM2940 or a 7805. all these things are possible, but, by joining different parts of the circuit so closely without de-coupling is always fraught with danger, always remember the motto     KISS or K     eep it    S   imple  S     tupid, I often see really quite clever engineers going about problems the most difficult way, making the job hard for themselves, and especially in model boating, the easy simple way is always the bestbecause you undestand what yowanted to do and you understood the way tou went about achieving it. I say this to you all, Don’t let anybody baffle you with nonsense , always take time to ask questions and find out what you don’t know don’t be afraid to ask What was that? or Why? if you don’t know, it will bite your bum in the end when you start a silly string in this forum trying to find out how to fix something you know bugger all about to coin a phrase

I don’t know the depth of knowledge the TV man has who repaired my ESC, and I really don’t see any need to test him on it. He could be a milkman and still know more than enough about electronics couldn’t he ? Anyway, its sorted now. I did learn some stuff, so thanks.

Absolutely right, I know a milkman who is a member of the radio Society of Great Britain , and you have to sit a written examination to be a member of the RSGB

It’s a series of adverts on ITV currently advertising the magazine which will be issued at some time in the future They are advertising that a complete bait boat will come in parts as a free gift when you buy the mag,but it will be expansive as has been said on here, but you will be alrightas hoardes of other anglers will have seeded the swim with tons of groundbait, you’ll be hauling them in. UIn the meantime, put bait boat into your search engine, they are bound to have a website with all the come-ons imaginable. Bessie seems to be a good old girl, and still going in her old age too excellent, shame you can;t eat carp, I bet the chinese do Keep your eyes peeled, it might be good for you.

A quick update for Jimbo , the magazine in question is called Bait Boat Fishing, I just saw another advert, and, shock horror, I realised that I had it wrong, I was just thinking that it must be pretty good being able to combine two hobbies in fishing and model boating, THEN, I realised that I am doing just that right now,I am busily typingwords of wisdom in an attempt to allow others to have as much fun as I have had with my model boatsAND, at the same time, I have logged on to   bostonpete.com          so I can listen to George Campbell’s radio program (forgive the spelling, it’s american)where he broadcasts country music 24/7so apart from the tapping of my keyboard, there is the occasional YeeeeeeHaaaaaa as Johnny Cash or George Jones come on with a cover of a Hank Williams song I love it, sometimes I sit here so long, my bum goes to sleep. OK Jimbo it’s my bum that goes to sleep, not me brain

I’ve just had a squint through the mail order company’sshottky diodes, and they have some pretty tasty devices in stock eminetly suitable for our needs,They can handle big fat amps and have a working temperature range from -65 to+250 degrees centigrade,so there is no danger of heat damage there. If you fit them yourselves, the two wires go to your motor terminals, and the silver bandon the diode goes to the positive terminal, you should also fit a 0.1 microfarad capacitor from each of the motor terminals to the motor case
