Hi all I'm new to this site and hope to get some help on building my first boat. I am totally clueless about electronics and need to know what I need to make a 4 channel boat with normal features plus a extra motor for using a lifting mechanism. all help is greatly appreciated. cheers Paul.

Have a browse around the feature articles on this site, in parrticular the article on Model Boat Electrics which has a link on the home page. That way you will get a general idea of what's what which will give you a better idea of what you want to do. Then you will be able to ask more specific questions.

Sounds as if you have a particular boat in mind, since a 'lifting mechanism' is a bit specialised. What are you thinking about?
