      hi I have a hand set that is temperamental have to mess about with on of switch looking to replace it can I just pick one up and change the crystal over and nothing else advise welcome

          Hi Ron, we need more info. What frequency are you on? 27? 40? How many channels? What are you controling? It might be best to change over to modern 2.4g transmiter and receiver, but that depends.

            It's for a fishing bait boat and I have no idea about any of the above sorry. Not clued up on this. How would I find out please and what cost am I looking at if I do what you suggested

              I’m guessing that it will be a 27 mhz set, in which case a new transmitter is possible, but difficult to find new, it’s oudated technology. However, you need to be sure. Have a look at the electronics inside, see if any numbers are showing.
              Is there no info on the transmitter? Or nothing in the instructions? Perhaps a web search for whatever model you’ve got will help. See what you can find out.
              Do you have any electrical skills? Or know anyone who has. Changing a switch is usualy a simple job.

                If it's a commercially produced bait boat & you know the name of it, have a look on 'eBay', there are always handsets for bait boats for sale on there, but you need to get one for the same model.
