      Hi there,

Going to have a go at a cheddar puffin steam launch can anyone advise me on a fair price?……. it has the right boiler and engine no man in the back who pulls the whistle and moves the throttle no rc gear…. but the boat looks clean don't think its been finished or used guy is asking £500 is that about right or a bit expensive?

      thanks in advance!

          Hello Graeme

Does the boat float and does the steam plant actually work?

For sailing in a public place (or where the public have access) – does the boiler come with the pressure and working test certificates? If not, does your club have a boiler inspector, who could carry out these tests?

                Hello Graeme

Based upon your description of the model and equipment I would snatch the chaps arm off and run away with the model before he comes to his senses.

                Paul

I will add the caveat that I haven't seen the boat or equipment and that I am not an expert on steam, my opinion about value is based purely on what I perceive as the resale value of the items. I would strongly advise that you contact a local steam model engineer for a more accurate appraisal.

                  Hi there,

it needs a test on the boiler but someone in the club can do that but thanks for your advise all I need to do now is find the correct guy who sits in the back

any idea what figure he is or scale as I dont think I am going to get any plans… although the chap is looking

                  cheers

                  Graeme
