Hi,Just started back on little jenny (yacht) build and have fitted the rudder and after getting a new RC system (Planet T7) I am wondering which servos would be best and plug in to a Planet reciver.

With any luck I will finish it this time.

          chedder sunday jenny 039.jpgHello Rod,

I used Howes mg ball raced speed 0.15 torque 15.5 kg for sails and Howes mini speed o.40 60%

torque . 1.7 kg, 4.8 receiver pack power 13mah worked fine on my Jenny,

but its a fine weather sail yacht , so beware gusty weather good luck …..Larry…

            Rod,

The servos in mine are standard Hitec HS-325HB. Don't think there is anything special about them, four of them came with the set. The radio receiver has now been changed to a Hitec Optima 7 since the conversion to 2.4Ghz. The photograph below was taken before this conversion. Had to adjust the amount of rudder travel on the transmitter's settings but if using a non programmable set this could be done with the rudders linkages.

            Keep us posted with progress.

Larry, must say yours looks very impressive on the water.

              hi, Larry and Tony,

Both look good to me.I have just built and installed the rudder as per plans.

What thickness of ply did you use on the deck?

                  Rod,

When drawing the plank lines on the deck, watch what type of pen you use. The ink on wet ink pens will bleed into the grain. Use a ball point (Biro) or pencil. Best to experiment on scrap wood or the underside of the deck.

Tony and Larry, thank you for your input I have had problems with my tab and just got on.

Will try the lines or may use stirring sticks . Will start on the mast, gaff and booms.

How thick did you make the base for the mast.

                      Rod
