Temperature actually dropped over the past several hours and it’s getting ready to rain.
Trying to stay inside and build models.
            Cheers,

E-bay or Google search for model shops or the Model Boats in the magazine directory or try Westbourne Model Centre Bournemouth 01202763480 they have a web site. Lots to try

Can anyone help? Is there a recommended distance between the end of the hull to the props. A m i right in thinking that the closer to the hull the less it will plane and vice versa. Thanks for any help

Yes. Always refer to the plan if you have got one. Both the distance and angle from the hull is important. Also size of prop and engine too.The angle is obtained by fitting the correct engine mount and the distance by the correct size of shaft. some scratch built model just won’t accept exact prop/rudder positioning in a model.Experiment or ask somebody with the same model. The layout of radio/ fuel tank or batteries to trim the boat is paramount as is wieght of the above.
If your running an i.c. engine the water scoop behind the prop it to has to be correctly position in the wash of the prop to assist in pushing the cool water through the pipe work.
Various books available an old Vic Smeed one may suit
Lets know how you get on

                                                Hi Vinnie

Didn’t know this was a new site i used to visit the old one. This is much more streamlined and user friendly.

Currently making the Hachette KMS Bismark but using my some of my own techniques. With 200 issues I don’t think I will see it complete Anyway it looks nice so far and can be fitted with R/C

                                                Keep up the good work.

                                                Cheers

                                                  Hi Vinnie

Just subscribed to ‘Model Boat’ and looking forward to getting my first new copy, just had ‘ hand me downs’ up to now. I’m just a novice really, i built a scratch model of the Norfolk Broads style cruiser ‘Ravenna’ last year but i got the hull twisted so it never was a good cruiser. I’m now restoring a Vosper PL4 over the winter, 46" bow to stern and 9" beam. So if it turns out good, hopefully i can share some pictures with everyone.

                                                  Great website by the way
