Morning All,
In my attempt to bore everybody and as a couple of my other projects are at the painting stage and realising how much I am missing the AMBO barge racing, I thought at the moment with furlough time on my hands something rather more time consuming was required, and I need a barge with a bowsprit, so happy days
A couple of years ago I acquired a 1/24th a hull for TSB Portlight from Dave Watts (Mastman) who has a fabulous range of hulls and all the fittings you may not want to make. The hull came with a CD with drawings of the fullsize barge and rig, but no model information, which is fine by me as I have Staysail rigged Veronica built by Peter Simmonds as a bench mark and a smaller 30" TSB Giralda
which is earlier on this thread.
There are a good set of photos of Portlight online she is not in commission currently.
The first stage is to establish the setting out of the hard points required for the rig ie mast, shrouds and keel position as Veronica is a known quantity I'm using her dims as a guide, and she's fast
I will be bonding some spruce strips to the sides and have marked the centre line on the bottom of the hull and marked the keel bolt hole position, I have a spare bulb keel and will be using it to save time.
Please jump in at any time !!
Regards Ray
