Speedline Trent kit

Hi guys,

Ive just ordered the first part of the Speedline models Trent Lifeboat Superkit. I’m relatively new to model boats and have really jumped in at the deep end with this thing i know but i am in no rush to build it and feel confident i can do it with a little help!

Has anybody ever tackled this kit who has pictures of the process, finished article etc.. or who generally can offer any assistance what so ever..? Phil Locke who has built a severn speedline kit has a excellently documented website of his severn build and at the moment he has a trent (not sure if its a speedline or model slipway), however there inst much which has been documented as yet… i have also seen the feature build of the severn in model boats magazine which i beleive was done by terry (hope i got that right). i have looked at these but still there are missing areas in my eyes..

 anyway, sorry to bable but if there is anybody who can help, then please do!

Good question.

Just for info folks, Phil Locke was building a Model Slipway Trent but he also has a Speedline Trent.  It’s an unusual one, its 14-01, the one with the flying bridge at the back!   I started it myself ages ago but it got shelved, Phil always like it so he is building it now.  It will be part of the Lifebaot demo team no doubt. Its on the back-burner though since he is into his Speedline Tamar right now and with a vengence!   I’m building one too and we are racing to see who gets there first!. (I’ll win ‘cos I have all the bits)!

He is also building a 1/16 Severn (where does he find the time?) for the lifeboat station at Newhaven. I supplied the kit so together we are saying our thanks to the station members for all their help.
