Hi Chaps

Well another day another boat.

Swap for other model boat stuff because I like the look of it!!!

The top is very rough, so a new top.

Add a bit more flare to the top as well.

Checking out the spare parts bin to see what I can use.

I will make a motor mount which takes 28 and 35mm motors.

Hi Harry. I can see why you like it. The top is a bit retro and almost needs a fin on the back! (And removal of the water scoop at the front, seeing as you won’t need that feature with an electric motor)

might look nice with a bit of veneer on the deck for that shiny wood look, and a few more exhaust pipes at the rear…

Raining here..4th week now almost non stop rain. Can’t see us boating tomorrow (Sunday) again.

Hi Ashley

Second last day of summer, so it was only 27.

Well ewe ask !!!

Leaving the deck the same and adding a new yellow top.

Eight exhaust pipes sticking up in the middle angle back a bit.

Strip out the IC motor and pipe.

Started stripping the motor mounts.

The dremel is getting a workout.

Only 4 motors in the bin.

A 2836-3700kv 700watt, a 35mm 2400kv 550watt, XK3674-1900kv 1769watt or a 3648-1450kv 1600watt.

Hi Lads

Strip out the OS40 IC motor, tune pipe tank and starter belt.

Weight 800 grams !!!!

Weight of the 28mm brushless, ESC, Lipo battery only 400 grams.

Next is the driveline, but the small turn fin drop out.

I was going to remove it in any case.

Hi All

Added new drive line and removed the old IC mounts.

The bottom was in good kink with only a few repairs.

Also removed the water pickup.

Harry, I am unfamiliar with #kink# in relation to boats…is this a cute antipodean saying or has the auto-fill been busy!

It looks very wide like that.

It's only 225mm wide with the chine rails built in.

I think it will be a dry running boat in choppy water.

Started on the new top and adding combings to the boat.

Looks like I will have to find another young DM driver !!!!

The DM driver was release from Port Arthur last week.

Still a few more to be release !!!

Nice chap, but does not talk much.

But put him behind a wheel !!!!!!

Hi All

Added all the combings and my three double magnet setup to hold down the top.

White undercoated the top.

Going to change the windscreen, it does not look right.

Chopping up some pipes to make it sing !!!!

that looks better Harry. The top hatch is a bit small?.?

we have some teardrop clear acrylic ..decorations, I suppose they are…you put something inside to make a Christmas tree decoration (or woteva), but they make fabulous streamlined canopies, or scoops, when cut up a bit.

Rain…can’t believe it mate!

Hi All

I finished the boat, tested running gear but having problems with the low speed on the motor.

Check all the ESC settings, all OK.

Battery fully charge.

The same one I use in the Huntsman.

Motor or ESC ????

Great top harry. DM looks about right in the hatch I thought looked too small.

Impressive exhaust pipes!! wowser.

Were you going to do up the deck??

I am not planning to do up the deck and sides at is point.

Test run the boat and the ESC died !!!!

The boat run OK and very good on the turns.

The motor was only going about 40% at the time.

Change the ESC and replaced the motor with the 35mm 2400kv.

Bench tested and sounds a lot better.

DM handle the boat very smoothly and cool !!!

Hi All

Ran the boat today is choppy water with the 2400kv 35mm motor on 60% throttle and a 3S 3700mah Lipo.

Sat up on the plane and was fairly quick.

The boat was totally dry inside.

The chine/spray rail works great.

I am afraid DM got his hair wet, but he did throw the boat around pretty good !!!

Excellent news Harry. DM could alway wear a baseball cap (backwards obviously) to protect his toupee?

do you tend to go for higher kv setups and small props, in general? I know this boat was engined by something in your spares box, but in general?

when you look at real speedboats and record breaking craft it always seems to me that the props are very small.

BTW that's three cuff links. What kind of shirts do you wear…..and how many arms do you have???
