Hey everyone, I'm new here and new to model boat building. I live in Vermont, USA. I have just ordered plans for the Miranda steam launch and plan to begin building her soon. Research tells me that Model Boat magazine had articles in the July, August and September issues. If anyone might have these issues and be willing to photocopy the articles, I would be happy to pay. Being new to boat building this would be extremely helpful to me. Thanks for any help I can get.

I think the articles ran from July to October 1983.

Denis – I have checked a site called Magazine Exchange but there is nobody at present selling any of those 4 issues. I have also checked my list of retained copies of MB but nothing for 1983 at all. There may be users of this forum that may have one or more of the issues and are happy to supply you with a scanned copy.

Thank you for checking David. I too have scrounged the internet and found nothing at all. I'll keep my eye on ebay and keep my fingers crossed.

It may also be worth checking "Model Engineer" magazine back issues. I know that it was a popular design of steam plant back in the day. Some modellers may have built both the boat and the steam engine to go with it.

As a matter of interest, are you planning to go electric or steam ?

She will be steam for sure. Steam is what brought me to model boats. I fell in love with the first one I saw on YT
