      Hi,

Can anyone tell me which issue of Model Boats magazine contained a free plan for a stand-off scale LST? I think it was in 2004, but may have been late ’03 or early ’05.

       Many thanks,

      Iain.

        Hi Iain,

ISome years ago I compiled a list of free plans issued by Model Boats and there is no LST in the list for those years.

Do you have any more information?

The Landing Ships (LST) were much bigger than the Landing Craft (LCM) so any plan for an LST would have to be to a fairly small scale to fir the free plan format.

        Regards

        Grumpy

          Hi Grumpy,

Thanks for the reply.  Perhaps it was an LCT, I was thinking of. I seem to think it was around the 1/72nd to 1/96th scale mark which would indeed rule out an LST, but I thought it was something bigger than an LCM.

I’d love a copy of your list of free plans, if you are willing to share it.

           Thanks and regards,

          Iain.

            Hi Iain,

I don’t mind letting you have a copy of the list.  It is in Access format at the moment.  If you e-mail me I will send you a copy.

            Regards

            Grumpy.

Marine Modelling published two articles about my design for an LCT 5 about 4 years ago – the plan is still available from the Traplet site!  (I don’t get any royalties)

                Hi Francis,

Thank you for yoru response. I have recently read your second article in the October ’04 issue with great interest. Do you still produce fittings for the LCT5?

                 Thanks and regards,

                Iain.

                  Iain,

Sorry,  the moulds wore out a while ago.

That’s a shame. Thanks, once again, for your help.

                     Iain.

                        Hi Iain,

I have just been looking at the Model Boat Mayhem site.

The first section of the forum (Model Boating) has a thread which started with a request for plans for an LCA.  A couple of replies contained links to sites including a French site which has free downloads of LCA and LCM plans.

Definitely worth a look but since I don’t speak French I found it a bit difficult to navigate.

                        Regards

                        Grumpy
