I was given this  Pilot launch kit by my neighbour which his daughter bought for him around 1975. He is a carpenter by trade so he attempted to build the boat. He managed to glue the frames to the keel and stick

a couple of stringers to it  then shoved it in the loft. Needless to say the whole lot had twisted out of shape because he did not know to fasten things to a board. I had to strip it down and start again. Even the metal rods for railings snapped when I tried to bend them so they were replaced with brass. during the build we took  our grandson to the southern boat show where he went on a Police Launch. Then he wanted me to make the Pilot boat into a police boat. I must say it was awful to build…..none of the hull skins fitted without a lot of sanding etc.
