KD Perkasa 1/24 – FRANCE

Hello everybody ,

I'm writing to you from France (so please apologize for my "strange" english ) : 40 years after I bought it, I decided to continue an complete (I hope) my KD Perkasa 49" with fiber glass hull.

But, unfortunately, after many moves , I've lost all plans, and severall genuine parts included in the "Precedent kit", and may be, with your support, I'll find info, pics and overall your experience.

Some pics of my model will follow soon.

I'm already in relation with Adrian Smith from Battlecrafts website and I also tried (without reply !) to get in touch with Vosper Thornycroft site.

But I'm in trouble with other related, for instance : what kind of rudder was included initialy in the Precedent kit, because all I see seems to be to short ?

This thread is as good a place to start your research as anywhere. **LINK** I did Google 'Precedent Perkasa' and there is a lot of information out there about it.

Do be aware that Precedent changed the kit after a few years from using band-sawn marine plywood parts to die-cut liteply, and as far as I can recall there was never a full-size plan in either version.

I built one 5 years ago and as Dave M said there are no full size plans , please be aware that the hull braces supplied in the kit are no good and new ones need to be made out of 6mm ply. All the people i spoke to had badly twisted hulls supplied in the kit , in my case it had a about a 12mm twist , you must pull the hull flat then make cardboard templates to copy onto the ply then bond these into your hull whilst your hull is clamped flat , i used P40 for this .

I do have the plans and the booklet from the Precedent Perkasa which covers both sizes.

These are a copy from an unstarted kit which I sold a few months ago.

i am new to forums but im stuck with my precedent kd perkasa 49" all wood model.

i built the hull a few years ago but i have lost all but the cover for the build instructions.for some reason i have the instructions for the 1/32 scale all plastic.

im hoping i can get some help with instructions as to weather o attempt to complete this model or scrap it.
