Hi Beginners,

I'm one of you, new to boat building.

I recently came across this web site (http://eezebilt.tk/)with old (and less old) cheap build plans. Basic semi-scale plans based on kits from 50+ years ago.

They're designed to be cheap and easy to build rather than accurate scale, so good for first scratch build or kids.

This is actually quite a well known site here, and you are dead right, it’s a little gem.

You can’t go wrong by having a go at some of those plans.

I have built a couple of the plans over recent years. They are quite easy to put together. The 50+ range are slightly more up to date designs but still easy to build. As you can see from the website the plans are easy to scale up as well.

Putting Eezebilt into the search on this site should bring up a few builds.

I am hoping to build an enlarged Triton this Autumn / Winter.

Below is my model of the OSA 1 Missile Boat from the Eezebilt plans and an enlarged PT Boat.

I agree with you. It is a great place to start the building journey. You'll find cheap and easy to make models here.

The same guy has a Marinecraft site which was an alternative to Eezebilt. All the models shared the same hull which is interesting.

Worth a look.
