What capacity are the cells in your transmitter? Sometimes the ones that are supplied with the radio are quite low – 700mah for example. You can easily get replacement packs with more than double that capacity.

hi colin thanks for your reply ,the cells that are in the radio are 700mah.its a bit of a poor show when they sell new radio gear  with such a low mah capacity.regards sammyk

I couldn’t agree more, Sammy. No prizes if I guess your radio brand starts with an F. You’ll probably find they are NiCADs too, as opposed to NiMH cells.
Cheap tricks deserve no applause. I voted with my wallet and bought Spektrum instead.

I have a Futaba 6EXA and swapped out the 700mah NiCads for 2100NiMH cells.

It’s a bit like those digital cameras which come with a memory card which allows you to save about 8 shots!

Not quite, Admiral. At least the folk who sell digital cameras usually specify minimal card capacity in their blurb. You have to remove the back from one of these radio sets before you find out you’ve bought a 21st century set with a similar size and type of pack to those included in sets 30 years ago. Whatever next, pray – servos that only rotate in one direction?
OK – so a 2100 NiMH pack isn’t too much – but if you’ve already paid for a battery which you thought would do the job then it tends to sour one’s opinion.
I guess I’m just old and cynical (“Moi??” ” Mais NON, M. Dave!”)
