comparison of self steering systems

Greetings from across the pond! I'm interested in applying model self steering systems (like Braine gear) to a dinghy sized boat. I can't seem to find a meaningful comparison of the pros and cons of Braine gear versus Fisher linkage vane gear, or how those two compare to full scale systems like Hyrdrovane or servo-pendulum gear. Thanks in advance.

It might well be worth asking the membership of the Vintage Model Yacht Group as well here:

Thank you all for the links. I've read everything I could on this forum, which was what lead me to post the question here, but the second link is new to me and I look forward to reading it. Specifically what I am struggling to understand is a person would choose one option over the other, and why small yachts use servo-pendulum and the like instead of the scaled up vane gear.
