Visiting the Warwick Model Boat show yesterday I was interested to find a stand by Classic Ship Models who specialise in building models of traditional UK merchant navy vessels. You can see some of their work here: **LINK**
I had previously seen their adverts in Ships Monthly and so welcomed the chance to see the models on display. They are indeed very good and cost from £200 to well over £1,000 each. Although the company is based in the UK I think the models are actually built in China and certainly the people manning the stand appeared to be Chinese. Does anyone know any more about them? I suppose that if you had a connection with a particular vessel they could be an attractive buy.
I was quite tempted by some of their 1:1250 scale resin models as I collect metal ones to this scale but on close examination, while good, I felt they were not quite up to what I have come to expect from the German manufacturers.
