            Hi Craig

Have you any shots of the interior / engine (if any) and what other information do you have about the model other than its 1920s origin.

Its a very nice looking model under all that paint.

I only have these at the mo, as I’m not with the boat.  I will add further shots as soon as I can.  The model has been repainted recently and did have some worm which I have thoroughly treated.  I am waiting for a while before I fill the flight holes as I understand you cannot paint or varnish for some time after treating.  Woodworm fills alot of people with dread as what you see is unsightly and can sometimes be just the tip of the iceberg.  Also there is the possibility of infecting other items in the house (such as model boats for instance)!  I have removed the decks to check how bad the infestation is and it is really is quite light.  I recently swotted up on the lifecycle of these little blighters and armed with that knowledge, set about treating the boat. Judging by the extent of the damage, I’d say that the infestation is really quite recent considering that this boat is 70-80 years old. Needless to say, I will be keeping an eye one on it for any new flight holes.  Back to the boat-It  seems quite crudley made in some ways although I am sure it is not home- made as I have another of the same ilk that came from a totally different source (also with woodworm).

                Hi Craig

Upon first inspection of the photos it would appear to be homemade as the framing around the windows is thick and the proportions of the cabin and hull don’t quite match, as you say it is quite crude, perhaps it was built from the same plan as your other one. I would really like to see a photo of your other model to make a like for like comparison.

                Looking forward to more info.

                All the best

                Paul
