Anyone remember her?

Can any of our senior members remember this sailing ship? In the 50’s I had a postcard of her and as I remember she looked very much like a frigate from the Nelson era. On the reverse there was a note to the effect that models of her could be purchased from a given address.

Hi Paul and again thanks for a speedy reply.

The lower photo is definitely not her. This shows a fully rigged ship and as her tops’ls and topg’lnts  appear the same size I would put her as post 1860’s and therefore too modern.

I am not sure about the top pic. Difficult to discern her lines from this angle. She is a 3 masted tops’l schooner assuming that the single yard crossing her foremast  would support a free-footed fore tops’l .Otherwise she is a jackass rig.

The PC i had showed a shot of the starboard beam and with her bluff, 18/early 19 cent.bows, 3 masts she looked every inch a small frigate or corvette. She was painted overall light/med grey.

Sorry my friend but I can’t find anything of any use for your search so all that I can suggest is that you locate and trawl through an online postcard archive.

I really thought that I had something on this subject but have drawn a blank however I shall continue the search through a few friends and if I get lucky I shall post the result straight away.
